Located on Yunotsubo Kaido, 'Yufuin Milch Main Store' has become a famous spot, but with the desire for people to enjoy Yufuin-made sweets more casually, 'Yufuin Milch Donuts & Cafe' was opened in front of Yufuin Station in 2016 (Heisei 28).
What we definitely want you to try during the cold winter is the 'Freshly Baked Milk Chocolate Donut,' a warm dessert where freshly baked donuts made in-store are generously coated with hot chocolate. The slightly sweet donut is paired with a mildly bitter hot chocolate that melts together deliciously.

A specialty shop for tofu karinto located in Yufuin's Yunotsubo Kaido.
The store has an attached manufacturing facility, allowing customers to shop while observing the tofu karinto production process through a glass window.

A popular hot spring near Lake Kinrin. Despite being in the central area, it is less crowded, allowing you to relax comfortably. The quality of the hot spring water is highly regarded by the locals. In addition to separate indoor baths for men and women and open-air baths, there are also seven private family baths, making it easy to stop by during your stroll.

Shitanyu (Shitan-yu)
A symbolic mixed-gender communal hot spring in Yufuin, located near Lake Kinrin. It features a simple spring with a source temperature of 69.4 degrees Celsius, which is on the hotter side. There is an indoor bath with a sense of openness and a semi-open-air bath facing Lake Kinrin. Since everything, including the changing area, is mixed-gender, women might need some courage to enter.

A beloved 'town hot spring' near Yufuin Station
Otomaru Onsen Hall
This is the closest public hot spring to Yufuin Station, and it is visited by many tourists and locals. The bathing fee is 200 yen, which is placed in the offering box of the Yakushi Nyorai statue at the entrance. The retro-style indoor bath features slightly hot, colorless, and transparent water. A delightful point is that it is open from early morning until late at night.

The zenzai with chestnuts and mochi is appealing for its moderate sweetness and the roasted aroma of each individually grilled mochi.
The palate cleanser changes with the seasons, and on this day, it was sweet simmered kumquats from Yufuin. Be sure to enjoy the breathtaking view of Mount Yufu from the terrace seats by the window.
