We joined a canoe tour on a dam lake in Yanbaru, Okinawa, and it was much more enjoyable and reassuring than I had imagined. I rode with my elementary school child, and the canoe felt stable, so there was nothing to be afraid of. Traveling through the subtropical jungle was very appealing, and my wife was lucky enough to spot a kingfisher. Upstream, we enjoyed playing in the river and catching fish, which thrilled the kids. Although we didn't see a Yanbaru rail, it was a wonderful experience that let us fully enjoy Okinawa's great nature.
