The birthplace of karaage, Usa City. It has a longer history than Nakatsu karaage, and after the war, Oita's karaage culture began with the Chinese restaurant "Kuri-raken".
In the northern region of Oita Prefecture, poultry farming has been thriving for a long time, and it was triggered by Masao Fukuda, the founder of Kuriken, who served bone-in peach karaage made by cutting chicken into four pieces that were not suitable for shipping. Subsequently, the karaage cooking method was generously disclosed, and the karaage culture spread to Usa City and neighboring Nakatsu City.
The seasoning of the restaurant is soy sauce and garlic flavored, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The freshly raised karaage is so light and refreshing that you can eat as many as you want.
Mr. Yasuyo, the second generation of the company, says that the secret is "our commitment to oil." The oil used by the store is completely replaced by looking at the condition of the oil, without adding it. By keeping it fresh at all times, we provide karaage that you will never get tired of.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the company's founding, a take-out specialty store "Tenkatori" has been added. In order to spread karaage culture to the world, we have also opened a store in Los Angeles.
The specialty dish is not limited to karaage, but also Iniwa Chinese soba noodles. Made with Akita's Iniwa Chinese noodles, it is a smooth throat dish that goes well with the chicken stock-based soup.
