There were only two passengers—my sister and me. I imagine that must have been a big loss for Okinawa Bus. Even so, I am truly grateful that they still ran the tour. The journey to the Churaumi Aquarium was full of surprises for someone like me, who lives a carefree life on the mainland. I knew about the sit-ins protesting the construction of the Henoko base, but it was the first time I learned that there are also signs and protests on the other side of the island, demanding a stop to the removal of earth and sand. Has that ever been reported in the news? It was a real eye-opener. The stone walls of Nakijin Castle were magnificent. I’d love to see them when the Taiwan cherry blossoms are in bloom.
I’d love to visit again. The lunch buffet was also great. I am truly grateful to the Okinawa Bus driver and guide, who even recommended a delicious restaurant near the company headquarters at the end. Thank you very much.
